Bonneville County Jail Roster
The official Bonneville County Jail Inmate List is hosted by the Bonneville County Sheriff's Office and linked from the county's jail inmate list page. The county page says the roster updates once per hour. The sheriff roster displays its own timestamp and also warns that the page may have update issues, so the listed time matters. The roster is free, public, and does not require an account.
The roster covers adult local custody at Bonneville County Jail. It is not the right place for juveniles at 3B Detention Center, IDOC residents at Idaho Falls Community Reentry Center, sentenced state prisoners, federal sentenced inmates, or ICE detainees already transferred to immigration custody. Those records are searched through separate systems. This local divide is the first fact to check before assuming a no-result search means the person is not in custody.
Use the Bonneville County Inmate Roster
The roster works like a live table. Start with the person's name, then use the visible columns and search filter to narrow results. The sheriff does not publish a wildcard rule, date-of-birth search, booking-number search, or charge filter on the public table.
- Open the sheriff inmate-list page and note the roster update timestamp.
- Type a last name, first name, or visible text into the Search field.
- Use column sorting or page controls when a common name returns many rows.
- Compare the image, inmate ID, name, and location before relying on the match.
- Call 208-529-1315 if the person is missing, the roster looks stale, or charge and bond details are needed.
The county inmate-list link page points users back to the sheriff-hosted roster and notes hourly updates.
That county routing page is useful when searchers start on county government pages instead of the sheriff site.
Bonneville County Roster Search Fields
The public search fields are limited. That makes the roster fast to scan but less complete than a full jail management record. If a person has a common name, the booking photo and inmate ID become important checks, and the jail phone remains the official confirmation path.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Show entries | Dropdown | No | Changes the visible page size for the roster table. |
| Search | Text input | No | Filters visible rows by typed text; no official wildcard rule is posted. |
| Column sort | Clickable column headers | No | Sorts most columns except the image column. |
| Previous / Next | Pagination buttons | No | Moves through roster pages. |
Bonneville County Inmate Profile Fields
Bonneville County's public roster is a custody locator rather than a full booking-record portal. The sheriff jail overview says the records system does not allow exact charges or bond amounts to be published on the roster page. For a particular inmate, the sheriff directs people to contact a Detention Deputy at the jail information line.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Images | Booking image or mugshot thumbnail, often a front and side booking photo composite. |
| Inmate ID | Jail-assigned ID used on the roster and for mail addressing. |
| Last Name | Last name, displayed in uppercase on the roster. |
| First Name | First name for visible roster matching. |
| Location | Housing or location label, including dorm-style labels and WR DORM entries. |
| Charges and bond | Not published on the public roster; call the jail or search court records. |
Note: A roster match confirms current public custody status, not the full criminal case record.
Bonneville County Inmate Access Channels
Use more than one access channel when the roster does not answer the actual question. The roster confirms current custody. The jail phone fills charge and bond gaps. JustFOIA handles releasable records not posted online. VINE handles custody and case notifications. IDOC, BOP, and ICE cover custody systems outside the Bonneville County adult jail.
| Need | Official Channel | Best Use |

| Charge or bond detail | Jail phone 208-529-1315 | Details withheld from the public roster. |
| Past booking or police record | JustFOIA request | Records not posted online, subject to review and redaction. |
| Custody notices | VINE Idaho | Custody and case notifications. |

Request Bonneville County Jail Records
The Sheriff's Office Records Team processes reports and court orders and handles releasable law-enforcement public records. BCSO and general county records requests are submitted through JustFOIA. In-person requests may be made at the BCSO Records Office inside the Law Enforcement Building at the Bonneville County Courthouse, 605 N. Capital, Idaho Falls, ID 83402. Records questions go to 208-529-1350 option 5 or records@bonnevillecountyidaho.gov.
Requests may be reviewed by the Bonneville County Prosecutor's Office and sheriff legal counsel. Idaho Code 74-103 generally requires a grant or denial within three working days for Idaho residents, or a notice that more time is needed. Idaho Code 74-106 may allow redaction or withholding for investigatory, juvenile, privacy, and correctional safety reasons.
The JustFOIA public portal accepts law-enforcement records requests, general county records requests, and coroner records requests.
The portal also supports archive search and request status tracking when the requester has the request number and security key.

Booking Process in Bonneville County
Bonneville County does not publish a detailed booking manual, but the sheriff's jail team page says detention deputies operate the jail 24 hours a day and handle intake and processing. A typical local adult booking includes transport to the jail, identity confirmation, property handling, a booking image, an inmate ID, medical or mental-health screening, classification, and housing assignment. Those steps should be read as standard jail concepts because the exact local sequence is not published.
After intake, a person may appear on the public roster when the system updates. The sheriff warns that updates may not always occur on the hour. If a new arrest is expected but the person is missing from the roster, call the jail at 208-529-1315. Property release is handled only after the inmate fills out a property release form and deputies verify the recipient's ID. Inmates cannot receive property while incarcerated, except current medications or prescription glasses.
Bonneville County Jail Visitation
Bonneville County Jail uses Telmate and GettingOut for onsite and remote video visitation. Remote visits must be scheduled in advance. Onsite local video visits use Telmate stations in the jail lobby, and one free 30-minute local visit can be scheduled by the resident or family and friends if accepted by the resident. Visitors should arrive at the scheduled time, secure personal items, and follow Telmate verification rules.
| Visit Type | Schedule / Length | Rules |
|---|---|---|
| Remote video | Scheduled in advance | Telmate verification required; no prohibited behavior, signs, message clothing, three-way calls, or phone use during visits. |
| Onsite video | One free 30-minute local visit may be scheduled | Uses lobby stations; two-person booth limit; minors need parent or guardian rules followed. |
| Special visit | For travel over 60 miles or other special circumstances | Shift Supervisor or Classification Officer may approve; Telmate registration still applies. |
The sheriff visitation page explains the Telmate and GettingOut rules for Bonneville County Jail visits.
Scheduling should be confirmed before travel because late arrival, cancellation timing, and account verification can affect the visit.
